According to Journal Oncotarget, the team of researchers from University of Manchester scientists have used graphene to target and neutralise cancer stem cells while not harming other cells. Led by Professor Michael Lisanti and Dr Aravind Vijayaraghavan has shown that graphene oxide, a modified form of graphene, acts as an anti-cancer agent that selectively targets cancer stem cells.

Graphene oxide (GO) is widely known as an amphiphile having hydrophilic oxygen functionality and unoxidized graphitic patches as the hydrophobic domains that makes it great ingredient in soap and help bind both  - water and free floating oils also known as superfats.

While most of GO biomedical research is concentrated to use it as very effective for targeted drug delivery, seems GO itself become very promising healing  and antibacterial agent.
